I just bought a new ILogic USB Flash Drive 2.0, that contains 1GB worth of memory. I plugged it into my computer normally, and it automatically installed it successfully, however when I went into [ My Computer/Disk Drive E:\ ] the file that contained my USB Flash Drive, it said that it needed to be Formatted, so I did. There was a problem, I looked at the capacity and it said "Capacity : 8MB", but my Flash Drive is 1GB, I thought it was just a glitch so I clicked "Start" to start formatting the Disk Drive. When it was finished about 1 second later it said "Windows was unable to complete format" then it said "Disk E could not be formatted".
I’ve tried everything from opening "Disk Management" in run.. (diskmgmt.msc)
to downloading things that was SUPPOSED to help.
And I still have the same problem.
What’s going on?
Why is this happening?
How can I fix this?
Can you help me?

Please give details for me to understand my situation.

Hello,

I have the Sims 3 for quite a while now, and I’m using my laptop for it. I have a brand new laptop, a Dell Vostro, which costed me nearly 1000€. It has everything I need and The Sims 3 used to run perfectly on it, but since I use this laptop for school as well, it gets filled up… I’m learning how to program, so I have this program (Eclipse) which makes it possible to make programs myself. And ofcourse, all these programs I made at school can’t be deleted, since I’ll need them to study as well. These programs seem to take a lot of space on my hard drive (about 1/3rd of my memory so far, and this is only my 1st year out of 3!)… I only have this program for school and The Sims 3 on my laptop, no other games. I also run MSN and that’s about it. The pictures and the video’s I have can’t be the reason why my game runs slow.
Now, I do like downloading online content for The Sims 3, so my game gets full quickly. I have a lot of families on The Sims 3, a lot of houses I created, well I just have a lot of stuff in game.
My most important question here is: how do I get The Sims 3 to run on an external hard drive? I have an external disk with 100GB of free space, I just formatted it so it’s completely empty. I also uninstalled The Sims 3 from my laptop, I have a backup of the "Electronic Arts" folder in the "My documents" section, and I also have a backup from the "The Sims 3" folder from the "Program files" section (just for sure).
I just installed The Sims 3 on my external hard drive, installation went fine, but I noticed that there is no "My documents" folder on my external hard drive. So, probably my saved games will just save in the "My documents" of my laptop.

HOW do I get it to save on my external hard drive?
HOW do I get the game to run from my external hard drive?
Please note that I won’t use the external hard drive for other laptops, I know that won’t work. It’s just to speed things up. I also connect my external hard drive with a usb cable with 2 ports, AND it is also connected with an esata cable. These cables are 5x faster than usb, so I figured out that might be good.

Oh and, HOW do I install the game on my external hard drive, properly? Just what do I need to do to get it working and to make it possible that it will save my games on the external hard drive instead of saving on my laptop’s memory?

Currently it still isn’t working, I used to get an error saying I’m missing some sort of .dll file, (something with Qcore4.dll or something like that) and I also got an error when I tried to do an update to the game. I did one but since then the game doesn’t start, I get the start-up program screen, but that’s all. Can’t even click the red cross in the corner.

Hopefully, someone can help me in this. I even sent an e-mail to Electronic Arts, but last time I did that, it took them one week to answer me (I tend to ask difficult things..). And I can’t wait for one week.

Many thanks in advance.
