i just brought a SUMOdisk External 500Gb 3.5in Hard Disk Drive and on the maual it says its easy and quick but for me it is not.When i go to my computer it shows it as a usb port and i cant even open it becasue it says please insert a disc drive into drive E???? i dont get that and when i go to my computer managment and then disc management it is supposed to be in disc 1 but it is not there. i have tried everything but it isint working so please can someone tell me and i will choose them as best answer ASAP

- have a hard disk drive that would allow me to record up to 6 hrs continuously in HD
- record in High Definition
- have a mic input terminal
- have a USB and/or Firewire terminal
- accept memory cards
- cost under 0 (Canadian)

Hi, I have an A-level in ICT, I understand how to make a pc and all that jazz, but I am a bit clueless when it comes to external hard drives.

A few years ago, my PC died on me after I installed a windows update,but I think I may still have my files on there (i hope so) so I was thinking about getting one of these to try and get the stuff from it.

But there are two things i’m not sure about.
If I did get it, would I need to use the password from my old user? (if I do, i may as well ditch the hard drive, its been well over a year since i’ve used it)
and will all my stuff still be there? would installing it not just delete it all?
